Preference of Technology over Reading

Reading is one of the most knowledgeable and useful habits which can be inculcated in one's life. But, Technology has robbed the present generation of the habits of reading.

Reading allows a person to improve vocabulary, live characters, learn things, explore more about the world, understand different situations from different perspectives and certain things that cannot be listed. But these days people, especially children are too busy with their devices that they hardly get any time to read books. Though technology is a really useful and vital thing in today's time but still has some negative effects that the present generation cannot understand.

Today's children and even adults, pressurize entertainment and visualization over knowledge and books. Due to this, they find books boring to read, and YouTube shorts, Instagram reels, or maybe any other social media app interesting to devote time to. Since childhood, children of today's time are surrounded by devices from everywhere, whether it is to watching movies for entertainment, playing video games, or anything. They develop it as a habit automatically without even being taught how to use devices. Because of this, they were never able to form a surrounding of reading books. Today's children were never taught the importance of reading books hence it is difficult to say that Books are children's best friends.
